I have 4 jboss clustered nodes in a production environment and I'm using apache + jk_mod with ajp protocol to do the load balance between nodes.
But the nodes have been in an inconsistent state sometimes, and the jk_mod can't do the automatic recover/refresh of theses nodes.
I found another solutions named Nginx, but natively it doesn't have the ajp module. To include this module I have to compile the Nginx with a 3rd party module.
I did some tests with Nginx using reverse proxy to do the load balance in theses nodes.

So, I have a question: What is best solution to do a load balance? Use the AJP protocol or a Reverse Proxy?
