I am preparing to appear OCMJEA exam. While scheduling the exam in pearsonvue site. I came across the new beta certification "1Z1-574: Oracle IT Architecture Essentials (English)". It costs only 50$ to take. The end date for the beta is 21st of this month. Any reference materials available for it? I gone through the links with this exam. I couldnt find much info. So anyone has some details about it?

Thats awesome Ankur. Can you tell us your experience? What materials you used? Did you use only the documents mentioned by Riveros in the above link?

I talked to Oracle University support regarding this exam.
The end date of this beta exam is 21st April, 2012 and there are no retakes. So one has to appear on or before 21st April, 2012. It's around $50

I just attended the exam. The questions are mostly from the documents mentioned in the above link. There were no questions about EDA. Most of the questions are from SOA, Security, User Interaction, ORA, different views and product mapping.

There were total of 176 questions. The duration is 2 1/2 hours. The complexity level is medium for me. Only few (may be 7-12 out of 176) questions were scenario based, other questions are mostly from the above materials. So either you know it or dont know it. I completed it in 1 1/2 hours. The questions related to cloud computing were very simple, So I wouldn't spend much time on it other than knowing high level concepts. There were couple of questions related to Grid computing as well. Let me know if you need any other details. All the best for your exam.

Thanks for sharing the info. Right now work load is not light...and i just come to know about this beta exam this week. How long it took for you to prepare for this exam? Overall the study material is around 50MB or around 1700 PDF pages.

Yeah Its lot of materials to go through. I spent only around a week to prepare, since I had OCMJEA part 1 Exam 10 days ago. I didn't go through all the documents in detail. You can easily skip EDA and Cloud computing. You can just study only types of threats in Security, other security related questions are related to OCMJEA exam. If you don't mind spending 50$, then its worth a try.

Kumar,

As far as I know, the materials doesnt change for the actual exam. Infact, Oracle will score the beta exam based on the questions that are selected for the actual exam after the beta exam is over, and they will get the acutal certificate if passed in beta exam. Others, please correct me if I am wrong.
