Dear Ranchers,

I am back in this forum after a long time. I finished SCJP, WCD BCD and SCMAD certifications over the past few years.
I am returning after a break and am out of sync with what is going on in the group.

I came across quite a few web development frameworks like Django, Ruby on Rails and a few more.

I am planning to invest time in learning web service development - but are these standards still relevant at a commercial level?
I am thinking of Web 2.0 platforms and wondering if they use WSDL, Basic Profiles etc.

Kindly help me with your feedback.

Regards,
Sanjeev
