Hi Budi Kurniawan,

I have got a small glimpse on how Session can be managed in Clustered environment from Head First Servlets and JSPs.

Does this book cover that topic also?... If so, it would be nice to have some case study on how enterprise actually implement this
Clustered environment Session management mechanism...

And also could you please provide insight of it here in this thread?.

Good question. I am interested in knowing about this myself. Though judging from the title, it seems to be a beginner level book so I doubt it.

Hi Ram,

The book does not explain session replication in a distributed environment other than how to configure an application to be deployed in one. This is because the topic is not in the Servlet specification and every servlet/JSP container has its own mechanism with regard to distributed deployment and configuration varies. However, the book recommends that all HttpSession attributes implement java.io.Serializable just in case the instances need to be serialized to a different node in a cluster or to secondary storage.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
