hi guys,

I want to know the advantages of Spring over Struts as a frame-work.

And how the advantages affects our productivity and time.

Thanks

What you really should be comparing is Spring-MVC to Struts 2 as Spring is much more then just a web framework.

You can get started with this link http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5123816/struts2-vs-spring-3

I think it comes down for a lot of folks to what they are used to. I personally prefer Spring-MVC.

Struts is a web framework only, Struts can be compared with the SpringMVC.
SpringMVC is subset of the Spring framework
Major advantages of spring Framework are
- Transaction management
- support for Messaging
- support and Integration with Other Frame works.
(Eg: Hibernate, Struts etc)

Struts implements MVC ,where spring has Spring MVC and Spring implements IOC Design Pattern and addresses AOP Cross cutting concerns.
Struts is heavy weight where as Spring is light weight framework.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
