is it possible to redirect to a jsp which is not inside my war file , suppose some jsp I put in my server in some folder , and a servlet will read this folder and lists all the jsp's with link to each , and on clicks this link I want to redirect to this jsp , is this possible? , I am not talking about deploying my app in exploded way , my app is going to be war file but somne of the jsp will be outside the war and my app should access them , please advice me how.

Nope. If the JSP isn't part of a web app, it won't be evaluated as a JSP.

No.

Back up a bit and tell us what you're trying to accomplish, not how.

We want to use xforms and we write jsp for defining our form , using orbeon xforms is nothing but just use lot of xforms tags in jsp. We wanted to add the capability of adding new forms at runtime without deployment , so I am thinking of dropping the tested jsp in my server file system and update database with the form name and path to jsp (form definition), and on selecting a form I want to redirect to the jsp bound to the form.
so the goal is to render these jsp and be able to change at runtime , One option is to deploy my war as exploded but I am trying not to deploy as exploded and read the jsp from file system.
here is a sample xforms jsp (just to give a feel of jsp using xforms)
