BB Code Regular Expressions Improvement [DONE]

Somebody knows regular expressions very well? Because is 03:00 AM and I'm doing things like

\[color=['|"]?(.*[^(('|")?\])])['|"]?\](.*[^(\[/(.*)\])])\[/color\]

Isn't there an easy way?

Hi Rafael,

You are looking for a pattern that matches strings like:

[color='something']some text[/color]

Correct?
I think this one should work fine:

\[color=(['"]).*?(?<!\\)\1\].*?(?><!\\)\[/color\]

I would recommend an excellent J.Freedl's book (O'Relly) on regular expressions. Really worth reading, I've liked it so much I've bought myself a second edition recently.
