Log4J Error [INVALID]

I am using JForum RC1 and Tomcat 5.0.19 with JRE 1.42. i starting the tomcat i get and error
log4j: warn no appenders could be found for logger.
log4j: warn please initialize the log4j system properly.

what configuration needed to correct this on tomcat. ?.
log4j.jar file is the in the Tomcat common library..

what else could give this errror ..

Just declare some appenders in log4j config file (xml). Or read log4j docs.
