Disabling email notification feature globally?

Is it possible to completely turn off email notifications? This would be neat if running forum on a host name which doesn't have "correct" reverse DNS entry I think, or just if admin doesn't like them ;]

Yes, you can. You can change this option in the admin panel, Configurations section. In SystemGlobals.properties, the attribute is

mail.notify.anwsers

When set to "false", jforum will not send notifies. ( well, the intend is that.. if it doesn't work, then is bug ;) )
