In phpBB, poster's IP address is visible to forum moderators. Is it planned for JForum?

At least poster_ip is here in the table definition, does JForum actually store it?

Sorry, I didn't check, anyway, one thought on the subject. If poster is behind a proxy, and proxy gives us user's IP address (X-Forwarded-For HTTP header present), I think it's better to store 'proxy_ipa/user_ipa' string, not just a 'proxy_ipa'. This way, we can ban them more safely in future, when JForum will have a ban feature

That's the idea ;).. However, the best place to put this line is in the method insertSave() from net.jforum.view.forum.PostVH.

It's the same old question again from me

Is the a/m feature being planned for future releases?

Thanks,
James Yong

Yes. I just don't know which release . And don't forget: if you want some bug fix or improvement, you must register ir at Jira ( http://www.jforum.net/jira ), so this way I don't forget what need to be made.

Rafael
ps: just keep in mind that may things may already be registered at jira, so it is interesting that you take a look in the existing issues, to avoid registering duplicate entries

I don't want to show the poster's IP, it the source for the attacks!

How to hide the IP?

Open templates/default/post_show.htm and search for a line containing a code like

it is located at line between lines 120 / 130 probably.

As a matter of information, ip addresses are only shown for moderators / administrators. Regular users can't see it.
