Hi all,

i hav installed RC2. there is some probloms with RC3.icons are not displaying,so settled with RC2.

how to create categories?.
how to create forums?.


i hav used this URL to create two categories

http://localhost:8080/JForum-RC2/templates/admin/admin_index.htm

but that categories are not displaying.

can i use RC3?.how can i?.

plz tell me how to use admin/moderation to create categories and forums

The images are not showing? Have you configured the "forumLink" property in WEB-INF/config/SystemGlobals.properties? don't forget that, depending of how you configured the Tomcat's context, you must add a slash ( / ) to the end of the url.. for example, let say you instaled jforum at



the "forumLink" property must be set to



note the "/" at the end. This will solve the images problem.

Moreover, I don't recomend you to use rc2, since you can get errors that are fixed in rc3.1

In the admin panel. There are sections to do this. After creating the categories and forums, you must give access rights to the groups. Go the group administration and click on "Permissions". Somethings will be shown ad "Allow All", but you must click "Save" anyway, in the first time.

Hi Raphael,

Thanks for the info.it's almost OK.but i hav used

forum/admBase/login.page to access the admin page and the admin page is displaying,

and i hav created 2 categories and forums.but when i login again the categories and forums are not there .

plz tell me how to solve this.

I think I know what's the problem. Go to the Groups and edit each groups Permissions. Just save, don't change anything.
