I am looking into the possibility to adapt JForum to my own project. This would at least require implementing support for custom login verification.

I've created an account on java.net. Unfortunately, there are two possible candidates for checkout: jforum and JForum. Only JForum seems to contain eclipse support so I optimistically checked out that version which seems to build allright. Is this the way to go, or am I now working with the wrong version?

In another thread you mention that I should use the Development branch of "jforum" , but that was in Januari and you seem to refer to sourceforge instead of java.net? Anyway I couldn't find the Development branch in jforum but this might be because I haven't completely grasped the cvs gui in eclipse

The updated CVS files are all in java.net, head name "jforum". The "JForum" was a mistake, as java.net is case sensitive ( yeah, they don't tell us they are ).

I'll remove the CVS files from sourceforge.net, but the release files will still be there.

Was there a specific reason to move to the java.net host and dump the sourceforge cvs?

Yes. The CVS from sourceforge completely suck. Simple as that ;)
