How to set the default group?

Is this the only way to do it or it can be done in the admin page?

Currently it is the only way. But I registered a feature improvement to have this working via the administraiton page. The link is http://www.jforum.net/jira/browse/JF-87.

Every user I create the default group for this user is "General".
Where did you set this?
For exemple: If I want that every user will be a moderator, how do I change the default group???

Edit WEB-INF/config/SystemGlobals.properties and change defaultUserGroup to the desired group id.
