Hi Raphael,

I don't understand how the "deny anonymous posts" works. Why is this setting present in the user permission page? Does it make sense to say that user "toto" can't post anonymously in a forum? If he is "toto", he is not anonymous.

Anyway, I can't manage to prevent anonymous posts in my forums. Anonymous user is a member of group "general". How can I prevent any annymous psosts in all forums? Throught the user permission page? Or the "general" group permission page?

Thank you. Great product.

I have set read-only flag on all forums for user anonymous. It does the job. But is it the good way to do it?

Hi Raphael,

Hi there

I don't understand how the "deny anonymous posts" works. Why is this setting present in the user permission page? Does it make sense to say that user "toto" can't post anonymously in a forum? If he is "toto", he is not anonymous.

Your logic is right. But it appears in User Permission page because the code that controls the permissions in jforum is the same for groups and users.

Anyway, I can't manage to prevent anonymous posts in my forums. Anonymous user is a member of group "general". How can I prevent any annymous psosts in all forums? Throught the user permission page? Or the "general" group permission page?

Yes, you must set the permissions for the group "General". At "Deny anonymous posts" choose the forums you want to disallow anonymous posting.

Thank you. Great product.

Thank you, Jean :P
