MySQL Error

Anyone experienced this problem during installation:

Syntax error or access violation message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax near '; ' at line 1"
INSERT INTO jforum_groups ( group_name, group_description ) VALUES ('General', 'General Users');

Solved it?

Yes I had this exact problem on Debian/Jetty/Mysql. I got past it by running the script in install/mysql_dump.dat directly in the mysql command tool.

"forums/list.page".. Something like

http://localhost:8080/jforum/forums/list.page

You can rename the file "new_rename.htm" to "index.htm", which will then redirect to the forum's root.

what's the exact command to load the binary DAT file in mysql?

LOAD_FILE doesn't work.. ?

You should not use the .dat file, but the ones located at WEB-INF/config/database/mysql. This is explained at http://www.jforum.net/install_no_wizard.htm

Hello,

Thanks for the program. I just "install" it manually because the automatic installation procedure doesn't work (mysql error character-set, etc... ).

So, the table has been built and populated properly.
modulesMapping install has been removed as recommended.

Now, how to launch the webapplication? I suppose that the index.htm must be modify to point to something else. But what?

My Tomcat is 5.0.28
and Mysql is 4.1.0-alpha (win32 ver for develop. not tested yet on Unix version)
