Session timeout

I have noticed that a user can get silently logged out. That can cause lots of confusion, especially since the user does not notice the logout, only the side effects of it. I presume that the reason is the following section in .../WEB-INF/web.xml:

<!-- SESSION -->
    <session-config>
    	<session-timeout>10</session-timeout>
    </session-config>

Is this necessary? Perhaps it would be better to comment out this section in the distribution, to show how it can be done for those who (for some reason) really needs it.
