We'd like to be able to report on the usage we're getting on our forums. Right now it seems that we can go through the Jforum database and get a count of posts per board, users per board, etc. But there doesn't seem to be a way to get pageviews to particular categories, threads, etc. Part of the issue derives from the fact that the URLs don't encode information in them about what category, forum, or thread someone is in, just the actual page that they are access at that moment.

I think by linking web logs directly into the Jforum database and reporting that way, we would be able to get that information, but I was wondering if anyone else had run into similar issues and had a better solution or if there is something I am missing. Thanks!

You're right, JForum does not store access log to forums and categories. I guess you will need to parte the logs from the webserver, in fact.

I think that should be great have the counters of "all" in the administrative area, so an admin could have a closest way to know about the usage of the forum.

Something else is done in the phpBB.

Yeah, but does being a ninja come with a dental plan? And what about this tiny ad?
