this is a feature filed in JIRA as http://www.jforum.net/jira/browse/JF-202, but without a release date. This would be a HUGE feature for me to use on my project. My project's wiki display's the "latest jira issues" using rss, and the addition of a "latest forum posts" would be amazing. if there are others out there wanting this feature, please vote for the above issue in JIRA!

Hey, not to get demanding :P

Would it be possible to get either a "Recent Topics" view by Category or a Forum-wide "Recent Posts" view/rss?

I'm wondering the same thing. I filed this as issue
http://www.jforum.net/jira/browse/JF-290 to be tracked in JIRA.

i also submitted issue http://www.jforum.net/jira/browse/JF-291 for displaying part of the message body in the rss feed. right now it uses the topic's subject for the rss title AND description. I think this could be improved.

You can add me to the list of people who need forum wide recent posts - not topics but the actual post. Especially the date. See this test page with RSS feed to see what I am trying to do:
