Hello, I'm a seasoned Java developer and I'm looking for a good codebase to adopt from our existing phpbb forum (http://dchome.net). Look like jforum is good enough, but seems both advertisement and image posting are unfortunately not supported. I would like to have some contributions to these areas. Just checkout the code from CVS and tracing with it. Any helps are appreciated.

Great!! Your contribution is very welcome .

About image posting, I guess that with just some changes to the Attachments support will do the job.

Well, any questions about the code, just ask.

I think so.
BTW, I've requested developer role in your CVS. My java.net login name is samuelyung.

Rafael, is the supposed thumbnail function the same as the image posting function that I suggest? If it's the same then I implement this instead.

Yep. When an user posts a image, a thumb is created and shown with the message. Clicking on it will show the original one.
Please note that you only have to create the thumbs if the key "attachments.images.createthumb" is set to "true". To resize an image in Java requires A LOT of memory and processor, and there are situations where the server does not support / does not allow manipulation of images, so the admin may choose to disable it.

I know there's an issue, so I suggest the resizing should be done at the client side (e.g. dynamically specify the width and/or height) to reduce the server loading~
