how do u get the userid????????

I didn't understand exactly your question. I don't have the user id in the login page. I only know the user id after the user fills its username and password correctly.

Can anybody tell me how do u take userid from the login page.
I wanted to design a jsp page where i require to have a hidden field as userid or username of the current user. :roll:

Please help me out.

Ok sorry about that, communication gap.

I wanted to know how do you pass the user id(session) to the next page for the user. Any way i found out a method in which i get the user id and pass to the next page.

i needed all these for my digest mod(phpBb) to work.

After the user is logged in, I put an instance of UserSession in the session, key "userData". So, if you want to get username and id, you can use

Thanx for guiding me before i commited the mistake.

I have used a jsp page which i linked to the Jforum at forum_base.htm(template). and to pass the user_id i used

"userId=${session.userId}""
and i appended it to the URL.

If u have any other good suggestion pls let me know.
