Just looking for an open source java forum to add to a site I'm setting up. First impressions are this and javaBB to be best at first glance.

Shame you don't have i18n though...

And I'm mega surprised to see that this is going to let me post anonymously - don't your forums get spammed all the time?

I'm going to base my decision on i18n, robustness, css customisation, technologies used (Spring Hibernate is what I use with work mostly), support

Looking at the page source - not many CSS classes there to customise. How do we skin this?

-Looked at the CSS - looks good for skinning.
-Spent some more time looking through this forum - support looks good!
-Internationalisation looks like it'll just be a property file - I'll be producing a Danish version which will (in support of open source projects) be posted here for all

Still concerned that anonymous can post though - what's the thinking behind this please? And how do you prevent spamming?

Anonymous posting is enabled in *this* forum instance, but of course you can disable it. You can even disable posting to some users or group of users, moderate its messages, disable registration of new users, lock accounts on the fly and much more.

The incoming 2.1.5 version (sorry, no release date so far) has a configuratio option to require users to answer a captcha challange to post new messages, as well the hability to configure minimum delay time between posts

Rafael - Just to let you know I spent yesterday and today evaluating this and javaBB and this is clearly the better software at the moment. Good work mate.
