When posting a message, just chekc "Disable smilies".

no. I don't want smilies to appear anywhere on my forum. I wish to vaporise them from existance on my forum. From Admin to Guest, emoticons shall not exist.

Hi..
It's me who started this post. I've just registered.

Guess I'm going to have to start hacking away at the template code to get rid of the emoticons.

The reason is that the Wensleydale nature of them is not suited to the style of the portal that my forum will be part of.

It's easy to remove from the source. Open the file src/net/jforum/view/forum/common/PostCommon.java, and check "prepareForDisplay()". Just remove the call to smilie processing from there.

Please help as this is driving me mad!!! How do I stop emoticons appearing in the message to the person I've sent to.

I have turned them off my end but whoever I send a message to they get them in thier message
