Hello people,

Jforum 2.1.4 lacks some cool features, like access permissions to forums based on groups, present in the CVS version.

Are you planning to release a stable 2.1.5 version with this feature soon?

Regards,
Samuel

I'm just wondering what you're talking about here. Admittedly, I haven't had time to play with the unstable/CVS version, but 2.1.4 has such features right now, and we're using them with no problems.

Maybe you could clarify exactly what you mean?

They may be there, but they don't really work as I would expect them to.
Try creating a category, but neglect to select the admin group.

That category is no longer able to be shown in the "Categories" page for an admin user.
In addition, "Allow All" doesn't seem to be forward looking. That is things created after last time someone assigned "Allow All" to a group, are not accessible to that group.

Plus the save doesn't work anyway in 2.1.4 for mysql:

You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'jforum_role_values FROM jforum_role_values rv, jforum_roles r WHERE r.role_id = ' at line 1

If you're using MySQL 4.1, you may need to copy the mysql_41.sql file over the mysql.sql file (or replace the direct table reference with the table alias in the mysql.sql file).

There is another thread in the forums about this ....
