install/install.page?module=install&action=welcome Page can not be found

I am sure someone must have had this problem before.

After getting JForum on my server, I go to this URL:
http://www.mydomain.com/JForum/

and am immediatly redirected to this:
http://www.mydomain.com/JForum/install/install.page?module=install&action=welcome

but I get a page can not be found error.

Has anyone seen this before?

Are you using Apache (and its mod_jk module) in front of Tomcat?

Ask your sistem administrator / hosting support. If there is Apache in front of Tomcat, you need to ask them for mapping *.page to Tomcat.

So what do I do if there is Apache in front of Tomcat?

IF there if apache, then the *.page mapping will solve. If you don't have apache, then you are not running Tomcat or any other servlet container :P (kinda kidding, but then the context path or something like that must be wrong)

Nope. As I said before, you should ask them to send all urls ending with ".page" (aka, *.page) to Tomcat. The tech support knows the procedure.

well, I talked to my hosting company... and this was their response..

My hosting company wrote:We investigated more on this, but could not find a rule to be defined thru server.xml.

All I asked them to do was make sure *.page pages were send to tomcat.

Anything I can tell them to make this more clear? Are they looking in the right place, server.xml?

It's not via server.xml, but Apache's HTTPD worker.properties.

If your hosting company have Apache in front of Tomcat, they should know how to configure it.

If they even don't know what "Tomcat" means, search for some other place to host your website
