Attention: JForum on Ms SQL Server 2000

Hi all

I discovered a workaround to using Microsoft SQL Server 2000 for JForums.

The step is so simple you won't believe it. Simply specify HSQLDB in the installation page Fill up the rest of the information and voila. You're done.

Our test environment is a Win2000 server using tomcat 4, JDK 1.4.

We are able to correctly view, post and edit. SMTP is also compatible.

Right now I appeal to all forumers who are interested in getting SQL Server 2000 as an official database supported. Please help us to do more testing of SQL Server 2000 using the installation steps we specify here.

I have a msn with Rafael about this. If the outcome of this test is positive, we can consider putting SQL Server on the list of supported databases.

Fantastic. I will try to get a sql server 2000 copy, for testing purposes, and help testing it.
