I see how these notifications are distinct and on large forums you would not want to see replies on topics you're not interested in. Having to "opt in" is a good default.

However on some/many forums you will want to be notified of all topic replies under any forum you are watching without having to manually set each topic in turn as they are created.

I happen to need to set "opt out required" behavior on my forums and was hoping this could become a configuration option in the future.

In the meanwhile, I'm going to attempt the obvious hack of using a db trigger or something...(any warnings I receive will be heeded )

I want to, but have to read my servlets book first

just an admin here, looked for a java forum after trying phpbb right about when the santy worms came thru. But, I don't currently know java, struts, or httpservlet.

have used eclipse on your cvs tho and am trying to understand so I can contribute eventually. For a newbie, grokking action and controller theory in already written code is difficult.

You have my respect for writing such a complex, working app. THANKS :!:
