I am confused regarding users and groups.

if i have a parent group set up for subgroups, and i assign a user to a subgroup, when i come back to re-assign the same user, nothing is selected from the list.
If i assign a user to a parent group, when i come back to re-assign the same user, the parent and all subgroups are selected.

However if i do a search by group, the user is found in the correct group.

Is this a bug?

Also, if i have several groups set up but they are all top level, if i am a newly registered user, what group do i get assigned to? Am i assigned to the most restricted group other than Anonymous?

Looks like a bug in the forum. You can register the bug at http://www.jforum.net/jira

By default, all new users are set to the "General" group. You can change that in the SystemGlobals.properties file, key "defaultGroupId"

That's perfect. Thanks again Rafael!

I'll register that bug too.
