Hi,

We're running JForum 2.1.5 on Weblogic 8.1.4. We have a BI tool also running in Weblogic and we're using the user authentication in the BI tool as a SSO to get into JForum. Everything in this is working great.

The one issue I'm seeing is that our BI tool is not case sensitive. So for example a user may log in as user_one today and USER_ONE the next day and the BI tool recognizes that both are the same user.

When the user goes to jforum however a new user is created for USER_ONE that is separate from user_one. This causes a couple of issues:

1) We are using groups to restrict access to particular forums. Now if the user logs in with a different case the new user doesn't have the permission on the forum.
2) If a user logs in in lower case and later logs in in upper case he can't edit his earlier posts.

Neither of these is a huge issue, but I'm wondering if we could get a config file parameter that turned on or off the case sensitivity of the users.

Thanks so much for such a great product!

Kieran

With a little knowledge, a cast iron skillet is non-stick and lasts a lifetime.
