Beginning to feel like I'm spamming the forum, here. I've been beating my head against this wall for a day now. Can someone provide step-by-step instructions on how to install jForum from CVS?

I've downloaded the source code, compiled and deployed ito to my Tomcat instance, then I hit http://localhost:8080/jforum/install/install.page?module=install&action=welcome to begin installation. I specify HSQLDB, set my parameters, and clock "Next Step".

Everything goes fine until I click the "Begin Install" button, at which point, I receive the following:

Expression dateTimeFormat is undefined on line 2, column 29 in default/header.htm.
The problematic instruction:
----------
==> setting datetime_format set to "dateTimeFormat" [on line 2, column 1 in default/header.htm] [on line 2, column 1 in default/header.htm]
in include "header.htm" [on line 1, column 1 in default/message.htm]
in include "${templateName}/message.htm" [on line 5, column 1 in exception.html]
----------

Java backtrace for programmers:
----------

I know this is something to do with the Templates system (freeMarker?). But how do I fix it?

Well, I figured it out, after fixing the log4j config. It looks like hsqldb.properties does not exist in the latest CVS HEAD. I copied it from the 2.1.6 distribution, and it worked out of the box.

Note to other would-be installers: Unlike the official distribution, the CVS code does not automatically redirect to http://localhost:8080/jforum/install/install.page?module=install&action=welcome out of the box. You'll have to hit that url after deployment, in order to correctly set up the database. (or follow the manual installation instructions, but who can be botherd? )
