Hi,
I want to have a lightweight forum, and want to forbid that the user can upload an avatar or set an external image as avatar.

I want to have very fast Forum, most of our user are with 56K moden online.

Thank you indeed for the wonderful forum!
Kia

In the Administration Console you have these avatar controls:
Avatar:
Max. Avatar Size ( in KB )
Max. avatar width ( in pixels )
Max. avatar height ( in pixels )

I haven't tried setting the size to "0" to see if that prevents any avatars ...

Also, you can edit the file templates/default/user_form.htm and remove the avatar form fields.

From templats/default/post_*.htm, you can edit the templates used to show a message and remove the code that tries to display an avatar.

This works in that they cannot set avatars, but not neatly. They still get the option but are told that the uploaded avatar is too large when they try to upload it.
