I hope this hasn't been discussed earlies (as I could not find it).

I think it is madnatory to offer a "Lock / Ban IP address". Currently I have a user that signs-up every 5 minutes with different emails and spams my forum.

As a workaround: Just put the bastard's IP address in your firewall.

Another feature: It would be nice to have a button: "Report Abuse" that sends an email to an abuse account email along with the URL to the post so it can be removed.

Why not to integrate Akismet into jForum?
It just works, and works great!

Captcha does prevent the worst spamming. Besides Akismet is commercial.

Does the freshest jForum version have captcha on new post form?
I run 2.1.6, and this "stable" version does not have it. What "captcha" do you mean?

I'm using server.xml/context.xml this way:

2.1.7-beta does have captcha in post forms, yes. You can download the nightly build (Beta release) if you wanna test it out.

2.1.7 will be released sometimes in january (as it looks now)

i allowed anonymous postings, and if 2.1.7-beta have captcha - this is great and i probably will not migrate to Jive Forums for now.

For me it seems jForum development freesed for a half a year; hope this will not happed again

Well, we're always working on something.. it's not that development is frozen.. the only thing is that we're taking a bit more time to release version 2.1.7

I'll just show here one quote, this is exact what we expect and are to depend on:
