I'm just moving my question about date range capability to the feature forum. i'd also be curious to see what others had in mind for enhanced searching capability.

One of the things I'd like to do is query posts based on date range. I'd like to use this forum as a repository for production support issues and so I'd like to be able to see see how many support issues have come up in a given date range.

I've downloaded the CVS package, but since this is my first look at JForum, any guidance or classes that I should be looking at would be helpful to me in seeing if I can make the necessary changes.

Thanks!
Gary

For a really enhanced search, Lucene should be used.

You can start looking at net/jforum/view/forum/SearchAction.java, and its DAO class, net/jforum/dao/generic/GenericSearchAction.java

It's not hard to get
