How can I configure the forum, so that the user can only remove own posts. When I choose 'Can remove posts' the user can remove all posts, also from other users

I thought that behavior was odd too. You can:

(a) Set that flag so everyone can remove stuff
(b) Login as admin to remove stuff

But, I don't see how to do what you want, although that would be the right thing instead of (a). Keeping (b) around is necessary too.

"Can remove posts" is on the "Moderation" section, which means that those roles are for Moderators.

O.k. that's correct, but how I must configure the forum, so the user can remove his posts and not the post of the other users, like the 'edit' function?

We'll implement this function.

Has any "audit" consideration been made to this? What if a person makes a bad or inflammatory post, then after people start replying, the person goes back and deletes it in an attempt to hide or deny responsibility for it?

I think the current ability to modify posts with no date/timestamp indicating a change is also a drawback in JForum. This is why I typically quote the message I'm replying to.

Just some thoughts ....
