I'm adding this info about myself based on a request from Rafael. The reason why I'm doing this is because I would like to join the JForum developer team.
Some background information:
My name is Jakob Vad Nielsen, and I work as a system developer in Norway, I've been working with Java and Internet related projects since 1997. I'm working in a company called API (www.api.no). This is one of the largets media companies in norway with more than 53 newspapers (both print and online). Today we use JForum as the forum for most of our newspapers. Over the years I've been working with a lot of different frameworks and systems. I'm also involved in other projects in my spare time.
The reason why I would like to join the team:
As mentioned earlier we use JForum in the company where I am working.
From time to time we discover some bugs in the code. It would be really nice to be a part of the team, so we can help fixing these bugs instead of just reporting them.
JForum also lacks some functionality that we need in our systems. We have modified 2.1.6, and added some new features. We think that we can help making JForum more useful to enterprise users.
JForum is the best open source java forum. I would really like to help make it even better.
More developers from our company will be introduced to the project early 2007. Depending on how well this turns out, we can use company hours on this project.
I will also use a descent amount of my sparetime on this project if I find that I actually has some influence on the project.
Our main interest is to be able to run JForum on all our sites without adding our own code on top of it.
How can I contribute
I can contribute with bug fixing, adding new features, and off course testing.
Just start asking questions if there is something I've forgotten here [originally posted on jforum.net by lazee]
