I would like to study the way the notification email is sent when a reply is posted so that I can customize it a little bit for our internal use.
Could you point me to the class and method?

PostAction.java, method insertSave(), almost at the end of the method.
You'll find a call to topicDao.notifyUsers() and another one to a QueuedExecutor(), that uses TopicSpammer.
