I think you will have to learn how to install JForum 2.1.7-beta as the feature you are using in version 2.1.6 isn't all there.

Hello All,

I am a network Admin and dont have much knoledge in Mysql. I am using JForum 2.1.6. JForum is really helping to interact with my customers.
25 users registered.its working good. The problem is after 25 users when new users try to register it says " Thank you for the registration

Your account is not activated yet. An email will arrive shortly with instructions about how to finish the registration."

when i try to send test mail it says " Object Error" in a pop up Box.

Somebody please fix this problem.

Thaks All

Have you set up a SMTP-server in the configuration?

This alert message you get in the Configurations page is not related to the registering process neither to the correctness of email settings.

This popup is showing up because a little javascript problem in version 2.1.6, but it will not prevent the mail from working - it only prevents you of testing it.

It depends.

Some days ago I found - and fixed - a bug in JForum that only was happening with mail servers that does not require authentication - which seems to be your situation.

The easiest solution to you, at least for now, would be to use a mail server that requires authentication.

And don't forget what I said in the previous post: the popup alert you're receiving only prevents you of testing the mail settings.
