Hi,

I have deployed JForum 2.1.6 in a Tomcat 5 web-apps directory.

After, logging into the forum as the "Admin" user and selecting the Admin Control Panel:

When I attempt to access links on the left hand menu of the Admin Control Panel, I get prompted to re-login to the forum.
The links in the main content frame work ok, as these have a jsessionid included in the URL. The links in the left hand menu fail, and these do not have the jsessionid appended.

I have confirmed that:

- My user "Admin" belongs to group "Administration", and that there exists a record in jforum_user_groups to map this.
- authentication.type=default
- My browser accepts cookies (Tested behaviour on: IE,firefox, opera).
- There was a similar note made in https://coderanch.com/t/576134 , but it does not identify my problem resolution.

I guess its likely that the problem may exist between my keyboard and my chair ), but I would be grateful for any help or feedback on where I may be going wrong.

Many thanks in advance,
Aidan

hhhm.. you tested in three different browsers, and in all of them you got session issues? Are you running any kind of firewall / security program? (like the Norton ones)

Hey thanks very much!!

That seems to have been it - Its my dev machine running on localhost, and I had ZoneAlarm InternetSecurity Suite running. When I shut ZoneAlarm down, I can access the left menu!

I can shut down my security temporarily as a workaround to access the admin panel, although if there is any firewall tuning that can be tried, that would be a more graceful work around for me, I will have a play and see.

Many thanks again for your very quick help on this.
