A lot of the translations in JForum hasn't been maintained. Therefore I have removed them for now. They can be reintroduced as language-modules if someone will update them for the 2.1.7 release.

Here is a list of the translations that are removed:

ar_SA
de_DE
es_ES
fi_FI
fr_FR
hu_HU
nl_NL
pl_PL
ru_RU
sp_SP
sv_SV (Upon request from user that said this was a bad translation)
vi_VN
zh_CN
zh_TW

We will really like to reintroduce these translations if someone helps us out with the translation.

it_IT has been kept for now, since someone has signalled that this translation will be fixed soon.

Hello everybody,

First of all: Thank you for this nice software!

I would be willing to help out with the translation of de_DE.
Maybe somebody can give me a quick how-to on this subject.

Regards

Izzy

I will make sure this gets into our wiki later:

1. Get the latest 2.1.7 source from our cvs repository, or download the latest nitghly build.

2. copy WEB-INF/config/languages/en_US.properties to WEB-INF/config/languages/de_DE.properties. Translate this file

3. add this line to locales.properties in the same dir

de_DE = de_DE.properties

4. Copy templates/agreement/terms_en_US.txt to templates/agreement/terms_de_DE.txt. Translate this file

5. Copy templates/default/styles/nb_NO.css to templates/default/styles/de_DE.css. Point the images to the language preferres (You will have to create german ones).

6. Create a dir called de_DE in templates/default/images. Either copy the english buttons in there, or create german ones.

7. Change the defaults in the config while translating.

8. Post the translation to this thread.

When you are done we need to add this language to some forms manually

In JForum 3 I will make sure that creating a translation will be much easier.

I'll be happy to help you. So just ask questions!

/Jakob

Oops, silly me.

2.1.6 has an old de_DE trasnlation. You should off course be able to use most of the translation there, as well as the images, for the 2.1.7 translation.

Hello again,

I've translated the document so far, i hope i didn't miss anything.
I still have a couple of questions and remarks:

2. copy WEB-INF/config/languages/en_US.properties to WEB-INF/config/languages/de_DE.properties. Translate this file

ok, except for:

ActivateAccount.fillHash = Please inform the Auth Code
ActivateAccount.fillUserId = Please inform the User ID
ActivateAccount.hash = Auth code

what exactly does that mean?

4. Copy templates/agreement/terms_en_US.txt to templates/agreement/terms_de_DE.txt. Translate this file

Did the agreement terms change form 2.1.6 -> 2.1.7 ?

5. Copy templates/default/styles/nb_NO.css to templates/default/styles/de_DE.css. Point the images to the language preferres (You will have to create german ones).

there is one already, looks ok to me.

6. Create a dir called de_DE in templates/default/images. Either copy the english buttons in there, or create german ones.

these are also there already, looks ok to me.

Regards

Izzy

When you register an account, normally you will receive an email asking you to click on a link in order to activate an account. But it is also possible to activate the account in a form. This is what this is about. The 'Auth Code' is an authentication code that the user receives in the mail sent. The user id is the user id Meaning the login username.

Not sure Read the english one, and find out.

Can you attach the translation files to this post? I will make sure it gets into the repository.

To izz76,

I forgot to mention that you will also need to translate the files in templates/mail. Create an de_DE dir in there.

Hello,

I've zipped the files(attachment). Unpack it and copy:

de_DE.properties to WEB_INF/languages/

de_DE.css to templates/default/styles/

terms_de_DE.txt to templates/agreement/

folder de_DE to templates/mail/

The rest of the files were already there, so there is no need for me to repost them, since they have not changed.

Regards

Izzy

OK, I checked the jforum-0202.zip. Everything looks right. Except one file is wrong. I forgot to upload the file to the URL last time.
And I've upload the file as attachment now.

I don't think this list is up to date. Please feel free to maintain this translation, and you will get the credit on the Team page

Hi everyone.

I am currently working on a new Dutch translation (nl). Will post further information when I get to it or have any questions.

Hi

I'm almost done translating everything, but on testing the properties file, it seems that not every page loads the correct language. Group permissions seems to load half dutch and half english.

Furthermore, I could not see the new language (nl_NL) as an option when running install.jsp. However, forcing the install page to run in dutch by altering the url worked.

Is there more places that I need to announce the extra language ?

cheers,
jax
