The generic.sql is correct but since my database is mysql....

PermissionControl.deleteAllRoleValues=DELETE jforum_role_values FROM jforum_role_values rv, jforum_roles r WHERE r.role_id \= rv.role_id AND r.group_id \= ?

Should be:
PermissionControl.deleteAllRoleValues = DELETE FROM jforum_role_values WHERE role_id IN (SELECT role_id FROM jforum_roles WHERE group_id = ?)

This is in the 2007-01-07 beta.
