Merging multiple DBs possible?

I've been given the task of possibly merging 4 forums, (users, posts, etc) into one server instance. Is it possible to save the old posts and copy them into a new forum? I searched but find nothing.

I'm not aware of any available scripts for doing this. I guess you will have to create your own script for this. We would be more than happy if you post your merge script here, and make it available to the public.

Ok, well I am not really familiar with scripts, or scripting..can someone point me in the right directions?

I'm afraid pointing you in the right direction will take me longer time than writing the scipt Hopefully someone else will be able to help you out.

I'm saved, so I talked to my super..he explained not to merge the DBS, but merely copy them all and run multiple instances of jforumn in one tomcat, which is possible AFAIK.

ill search on how to backup and move the DBs. Then run 4 instances of Jforum with different names to 4 different DBs.
