Hi,

If I make a forum or category private will the forum show in the forum list for a non-privilegied user (i.e. a user which DOES NOT have the permissions needed)? If it shows, what does it show - thread name of last post? I want to make sure that non-privilegied users does not see any information about the content in that forum (the forum title would be ok).

I read "How to make a Forum or Category private for some Groups?" (http://www.jforum.net/doc/RestrictedForumsAndCategories), but that was not clear.

Regards,
Jimisola

I've been testing this same issue as I've been integrating Jforum into my app. jForum does a good job of checking security rights before it shows anything.

Private forums (and categories) will not be shown to users without rights.

The search function will check access rights before showing posts in the result.

Hmm, the one thing I haven't checked is if the results from the see postings by this user in the profile filters properly.

All content is supposed to be filtered before it is shown to the final user. If it is not happening in some situation, it's 1) a configuration problem, or 2) a possible bug.

In any case, please give as much information about your installation / configuration as you can, so we can help you better.
