Chinese character problem

I use MySQL 5.0 and made its default character set = utf8 , and the character set of jforum is also utf8.
But when I try to test the forum in chinese, it displayed that " Data truncation,data too long for column 'topic_title' at low 1 or ' post_text' and so on . What's the problem? Anyone can tell me ?

Maybe your mysql default character encoding isn't "UTF8" or your jforum database encoding isn't "UTF8", U can also get help from www.trydone.com
