Hi Jax,
jax wrote:I have only recently started using JForum and ran into a few problems ( some still not resolved) for which I tried to find answers here in the forum.
But upon reading through the postings it seems that some posts never get answered (where a developer *really* should reply), some issues that were reported fixed, simply aren't. (the absence of the HSQLDB jars in latest release for example).
We try our best to answer the questions that are sent to our forum. But as you might see we get a lot of questions all the time.
We now that the routines for making releases is not as good as they should be. The project has went from being just Rafael to a team. We are working hard at the moment to establish a more waterproof organisation all over.
HSQLDB missing from the distro was clearly a mistake. I will look into that.

Please do! Send me a private message if you do not get an reply.

I agree! And we are working on it. But it takes a while to establish all the routines and systems we need to collaborate as a team. We are still at the beginning of the JForum 3 project. We will announce news about the progress in this forum shortly.
jax wrote:Don't get me wrong, I really like JForum and also very much appreciate the work that has been done in the past years but I would just like to know what's up at the moment.
A lot! And I know that we have been like a silent wall in the past. Maybe we should consider a montly update newsletter or something. I will discuss that with Rafael.
Thank you for your views!
