Please give write access for the user who is running the webserver to the file 'index.htm' and for the directory 'WEB-INF/config' and its subdirectories before continuing.

JForum needs to write its configurations there. When you're done, click at "Try Again".

I installed jforum on XP system.My solution is:

1.create a file named __index.redirect on the direcotry "jform"

2.the content of the file is :

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" <br /> "http://www.w3.org/TR/2002/REC-xhtml1-20020801/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title>JForum </title>
</head>
<body>
<script type="text/javascript">
document.location = "forums/list.page";
</script>
</body>
</html>

read the above ^^ that should pretty much help ...

You either have to download the given file... or create it manually ...

or just do the manual installation. easy as is

that is how i installed jforum in the end. Not much difference. You just have to import the sql statements with some commands... that's all
