I am looking for someone familiar with JForum to do some work customizing it for our purposes.
Some of the customization can probably be done using the templates, but there are also parts that may involve customizing certain things such as adding some new actions or reorganizing some of the information provided by some actions. There may also be some need for getting some data via XML for some AJAX based dialogs. (This can be adjusted depending on your skills. If you have the skillset to help with templates but not the backend, that would still be very helpful. If you want to work on the backend but not on HTML/CSS, that would be helpful too.)
We need to have something presentable pretty quickly, so we are starting with JForum 2x. We will probably clean things up and re-factor/re-do our customization once JForum 3 is available, so there may be additional work in the future.
Currently we have something setup to generate the header.htm and bottom.htm templates using the data from our existing website. (They are generated using servlet/JSP and information from our CMS.) So, we can wrap the standard JForum interface fine. It's the look and feel, and some functionality of the forum itself that we need help with. You would work from screenshots from our web designers of the desired look and feel.
If you are available now and would like to help, please reply or PM me and I will have our project manager contact you with details about compensation and the project.
