JForum does not support sybase. It is possible to do so, but you will have to make changes to the core source code. Are you willing to do so?

There are various unsupported MS SQL Server implimentation. Since SQL Server is based on Sybase, you might try one of these.

If you don't need 2.1.7, you can look at my 2.1.6 Torque implementation (search forums for Torque). This has info on how to use the different DB's that Torque supports (Sybase is one).

FWIW, in a future release, jForum will be using Hybernate (2.1.8 Rafael?) which supports Sybase.

*chuckles* hard to hold the lovely question back: When will there be the first "beta" release of 3.0? ;)

I might maybe try to help on developing, if help is welcome... of a noobish programmer ;)
