How to tell what version?

Where does it say what version you are using in JForum? The only thing I could find about version was in the Admin Index right at the top under the header "Version Information" which states,

Could not determine if there are updates available for your JForum installation. Please check http://www.jforum.net/download.jsp for possible updates.

I would like to upgrade to the most recent version, but I don't know where to begin, thanks.

Look at the bottom footer on your main Jforum page. You should see something like "Powered by JForum 2.1.x � JForum Team" - which shows the version number.

Are you behind a firewall? That may be blocking the check for updates, which would show the message you're getting.

It just displays as

Alright, I think I tracked it down. I found a file called latest_version.txt which states at the top 2.1.7.
