how to search

i am working on search a forum and at the moment what i have discovered is that jForum only searches on the bases of key words whether they are found in post or replay subject or in its message contents.

but

how to search on basis of author or creation date of the posts or replies.

in search we have search option section where we can specify Forum but it creates no effect on search results as it should restrict search results only to the specified forum.... is this a missing functionality
