I got one more question. I am going to embed the forum in my application. Is there such a feature that lets me show the last 5 messages from the forum on the applications home page?

You could use the RSS feed for this. You can get all the recent posts from all forums or just from a single forum. There are a lot of Ajax javascript packages that can read this and display what you want. (I recommend jQuery...) [originally posted on jforum.net by monroe]
