There appears to be zero support here for JForum 3. No response from Raphael that I can see anywhere.

Is the project dead?

No, it's not dead, it's in development still.

I guess the reason for the lack of time / responses of Rafael could be:
- having a gf
- having friends
- having a job
- developing jforum in his sparetime
- being main / lead developer

... this may all be reason for why at times he may appear less active on the forums. But there's still activity...

If it'd be dead he'd have mentioned it already

Edit: I almost forgot to get into the first part of your words:
The reason fro why there may be little support for JForum3 is that there's probably only very few that currently have it in use. I'm still using JForum 2.1.8 and the last configuration I did to my forum was like half a year or year back. I still do know what might be possible or not, but.. I dont know the exact lines of code anymore ;)

And I never had a look at JForum3 yet either. Though I thought about downloading it from the CVS one day...

Maybe monroe or gaitor have it already running and can get into your question, but I think that you can agree that most ppl that are using JForum only will use a stable version (as it's for productivity in most cases) and therefore can't give suppport for jforum3.

I am happy to see that Raphael has been updating the JForum3 code base again.

Raphael, this product has a lot of potential, and if you can get it into a stable release it will be adopted and the rest of us can help find and fix bugs.

I am going to give the latest code base a second shot, thanks to Raphael for continuing the development.

Hi All,
I am interested in knowing the status of the JForum3 project. How much is done and what is missing? When is the release planned to be launched?

Thanks,
Jacob

Hi jacob,

JForum3 is good for a beta for a while already, and only very few features (like attachments) are missing. We haven't released it to the mainstream yet because the core developers are working on customization for clients, which are on the top of the priorities, because those clients allow us to keep running the project.

You are welcome to download the code from SVN (jforum.googlecode.com) and take a look.
